Citizen’s Guide to Sustainable Transportation Advocacy

Transport Action Ontario has just released the Citizen’s Guide to Sustainable Transportation Advocacy.  This 53 page report is an initial effort by Transport Action Ontario to prepare a guide to help support citizen campaigns which support sustainable transport.  We plan to update this guide from time to time, in particular to add other case studies.

No Little Plan: Electrifying GO Transit

Transport Action Canada, in combination with the Clean Train Coalition, has released a major report entitled No Little Plan: Electrifying GO Transit, by noted transportation writer and analyst, Greg Gormick.  The report was jointly funded by the John McCullum fund of Transport Action Canada, and by the Canadian Auto Workers.  it was commissioned to encourage the Government of Ontario to commit fully and promptly to a regional electric rail plan.

Alternate Routes for 407 East Freeway Extension

Transport Action Ontario has publically released a report submitted on 15 December 2010 to the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency (CEAA) on alternative routes for the proposed 407 East Freeway extension.  This project is undergoing a federal comprehensive environmental assessment.  The work summarized in the report was based on travel modeling carried out with the Ontario Ministry of Transportation`s (MTO) updated GTHA travel model.
